

About Gary Schopmeyer
Gary Schopmeyer is a dedicated drummer, passionate teacher, and survivor of a traumatic brain injury, bringing over 40 years of experience to his craft.
His workshops, Heart of Rhythm, are designed to help participants connect through the universal language of rhythm—an art form that transcends cultures and speaks to the heart.
In 2010, Gary faced a life-altering car accident that left him with a severe brain injury. Despite this challenge, his determination to continue drumming became a driving force in his recovery. Through therapy and unwavering perseverance, he not only regained his ability to drum but also found a renewed sense of purpose.
Today, Gary uses his experiences to inspire and uplift people of all ages and abilities. Whether through his music or teaching, he demonstrates the power of rhythm to heal, connect, and bring joy to others.

Gary Schopmeyer, a passionate musician from Santa Claus, Indiana, has released “Songs of Holiday & Festive Celebrations,” a heartfelt collection of original holiday music.
Highlighting tracks like “Santa Claus in Santa Claus, Indiana,” the album blends traditional festive themes with Gary’s unique musical style, showcasing his talent on drums, keyboard, and percussion.
Inspired by his hometown and love for the season, the album brings warmth and joy to listeners. Celebrate the holidays with Gary’s live performance at the historic Santa Claus Church on December 21, 2024, where he’ll share his festive tunes in a community-centered concert.
